Criteria For Consignment
Wear It’s At accepts clothes, shoes, jewelry, and bags on consignment Items must be seasonal, In style, Current (within the last 2 years), freshly cleaned and in excellent condition.
New consignors must make an appointment to consign the first time. Please call and ask about our new drop and dash policy for existing consignors that allows customers to drop off items anytime.

We would like Items brought in clean and unwrinkled; however the clothing does not have to be on hangers. When items are brought in, the first time we have the consigner fill-out our contract and sign in our book. Upon any follow-up visits, i.e. to bring in more clothing the consigners need just sign in on the book. After signing in the Wear It’s At staff will sort through the items to be consigned return any that we have concluded are not suited for sale at that time. Some typical reasons for the return of items are: incorrect season, small stains or holes, inappropriate styles or fashions. The consignment period is the rest of the calendar month that items are brought in and two full calendar months after that.   In that time the clothing will be priced by the owner or store manager.  Pricing is generally based on 50% of the retail price depending on the item and its condition.  The consigner gets paid when the item sells. It’s a 50/50 split. At the end of the consignment period the original owner can choose to come back and pick-up the items which have not sold or they can choose to donate them.

All items are donated to Suited to Succeed. http://www.suitedtosucceed.org. a welfare to work program for women. The program graciously allows us to give tax forms to all donating consigners for their contribution; those forms may be picked up annually as needed. If the consigner chooses to pick up any unsold items they must do so during the last week of the consignment period and must call to let us know when they are coming in.   After said week the items become store property and will be donated.

Everything at Wear It’s At is computerized and networked.  The consigner can choose to pick up a detailed printed list of the items we accepted from them after giving the staff a reasonable amount of time to price and tag the items.  Checks are distributed at the store any time of the month and as many times the consigner wishes to pick up a check.   Each check comes with a form indicating what items have sold and how much the consigner has received for those items.
